Its that time of year again. Super Bowl time! Everyone’s busting out the bowls of chips and dip and the little wienies for the party, right? Everyone’s cheering on their favorite team hoping that they win the big game. Soon we’ll see painted faces, painted signs and painted bellies from the stands. Let me ask you, what lengths would you go to in an attempt to show your team spirit?

Well two Arizona Cardinals fans showed their team spirit a little more than… umm, was legal on the unsuspecting Donovan McNabb, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. You can read the whole story on ESPN’s website, but basically it went as follows:

While at his off-season home in Chandler, AZ, McNabb was visited on several occasions by a couple of local pranksters. The two men apparently left silly things behind at McNabb’s house… One, a flag representing the Cardinals and the other was a box with some more fan-tastic statements written on them. Nothing obscene, just showing their excitement. Then they did something stupid… Their last prank landed them in with the cops. They used diesel fuel to burn cheers into the lawn. They caused much damage that McNabb could not ignore.

Here’s where they truly showed their intelligence. Remember the box that was left? The one with the writing on it? Well there was also an address label leading the cops straight to the prankster’s house!

Moral of the story? Don’t leave your address label on the box you intend to offend someone with!  Or was it, use someone else’s address label? No that wasn’t it… Maybe, something like don’t cause permanent damage when harassing a NFL quarterback. Oh wait, I’m sure it was obey the laws and keep your team spirit civil else you might end up in serious trouble…

So here’s to all you sports fans and keeping your team spirit under control ;)

This another one of those Long Over Due type of blog posts…

My son was born in November 2008! Everyday since has been marked with a lot of love, a lot of crying, a lot of diapers, but no more vomiting… at least from me! Jaered has had his days and nights mixed up since birth. Joy. Essentially I’ve been up most of the night and most of the day, considering my other two children sleep and play at normal hours and require my attention as well. ;) Isn’t it amazing how even though one can be completely worn ragged they still find the energy and strength to be there for their offspring. Well, it amazes me! Now don’t get me wrong I would LOVE to sleep at night. That would awesome. However, Jae is very colicky and there’s not much that comforts him at this point, and I’m ok with that. It’s just another hurdle we’ll get through together as a family. I’m just happy to have a healthy baby, no matter his gassiness LOL!

Jae’s a happy baby for the most part, aside from all the colic. He smiles often and coos when you talk to him, just as most babies his age do. His siblings adore him. Kae sometimes shows a little jealousy but that’s normal. He loves his new brother but is definitely starting to show a little resentment towards having a new baby around. I think he’s feeling a tad bit “replaced” so I try to reinforce my love for him everyday. Tae is sticking true to her nick-name,  “Mama Tae”. She is constantly asking to hold him and is even wanting to change his diapers! Once she gets them open if there’s a hint of “poo” she immediately closes it back up and shouts “Mama!” Guess she’s not ready for that ;) I’m not ready for that!

Water lookout

My Wordless Wednesday picture was taken while spending the day at Reed Bingham State Park located in Southern Georgia. We were walking the nature trails getting some needed exercise. There was an awesome spot to look out over the water, which is where I was when I took the photo.

There’s a profound beauty in the swamps that you can’t find anywhere else. The way the Spanish Moss hangs from the trees and sways when a gentle breeze comes along is one of the most beautiful sights to me. Our trip was not that long ago so, due to the colder weather, we unfortunately did not see much in the way of wildlife except for a few squirrels and some buzzards flying high over head. But we were able to see where the gopher tortoises have laid there eggs, as they were marked by flags. I have been told that on occasion you can spot Bald Eagles as well!

We had a great time! The kids really enjoyed themselves and if I remember correctly it was one of the first times in the past few weeks that they didn’t fight with each other! We all know that is a rare treat!

Jaered at Reed Bingham

Jaered, however, did not like riding over the roots that were growing up in the trails. He adamantly protested after a lengthy stretch of bumping about in the stroller. Next time we go I’m thinking I need to get a front carrier and carry him on my chest…

I would definitely recommend a visit to Reed Bingham. There’s more to do there than just walking the trails. They have a large play ground for the kids. There’s even a miniature golf course for your enjoyment. Many picnic tables, pavilions, and screened in buildings for gatherings. There is also camping, boating,  fishing, and swimming. You can go to the Georgia State Parks website to find out more.

It’s been so long since I’ve posted here. But today, I was inspired to start again.

Originally, I took a break from the Internet almost completely due to the monitor making me so nauseated during my pregnancy.  Well I had my newest addition to my family in November 2008! And I tell you what, he has been a handful ever since! I had forgotten what it was like to have a newborn. It’s all to quickly coming back to me!

Only recently have I been back online. Mostly to check email and keep in touch with long distance family and friends. But today something happened. When I checked my email I was notified I had recently received a comment on a post that was back in May of 2008 entitled Dating Single Mothers. Intrigued, I read what the gentleman had to say, and I use the term “gentleman” loosely! I was so surprised by his anger towards single moms that I could not let his comment go without some kind of reply. So I logged in and approved it then sent my own reply. In all honesty I have to feel sorry for someone that is so obviously disgusted with a substantial percentage of the nations adult women.

So here I am. Sitting here, finding the time to blog again. I was excited by the fact that I’m being heard! I have a mysterious and very angry individual to thank for it. So I thank you “Carl” for inspiring me to come back to my blog and share my opinionated thoughts yet again with the online world!

That photo was taken by my daughter. It’s of our kitten Cleo and myself doing what she likes to do best! Sleep. She loves to snuggle. I love the companionship. It sets well with my pregnancy hormone swings… LOL

King Kaeden at school on Friday!

King Kaeden at school on Friday!

Today is the day! The day where he sits in excited anticipation of all his young guests showing up to celebrate his birth! With an elevated heart rate and an anxious breath he asks me this morning, “Is today my birthday?” You can hear his voice dripping with excitement! I tell him, “Yes dear. Today is your birthday.”

“Yay!!” He shouts as he bounces off the bed. He’s been asking for almost a month now if it was his birthday yet. LOL He’s so proud to be turning 5. I told he’s so grown up that it’s almost time for him to start college, get married, have kids… Then I said are you ready for that? To my dismay he responded with a yes! I guess that’s what I get for asking.

After only 5 years, I can’t begin to imagine my son having a family of his own. My daughter either for that reason! They grow up so fast… but not that fast when you think about it! I’m just going to sit back and enjoy these years with my kids. They tend to fly by faster than you realize. I don’t want to take anything for granted!

Lately, I’ve been down and depressed and quite frankly out of the loop. With holidays and birthdays approaching faster than I care for them to and not the most desirable living situations topped off with being 30 weeks pregnant, broke, with no quick hopes of income coming in, I’d say I’ve been feeling quite sorry for myself. I even missed out on posting my awesome Wordless Wednesday photo due to my own depression.

Today, however, I pulled myself together and out of bed… pushed aside my feelings of baby sickness and was determined to get an article out for Kelby’s site Type-A Mom to which I am proudly an editor for her. As I sat here and typed I decided to pull up twitter.  Something I have not done in over a week. I’m still getting to know the people on there and I never have too much to say. But something in my head today told me to open it up and join in the conversation.

I may well be an open book, but I am a shy person and often find it awkward getting involved in the tweets. Today was no different. But I often read the different “tiny urls” that are posted by the various tweeters ;) Even though I was in the heat of looking for a picture to go with my new article on Household Budget Advice my eye was caught by one of those tiny urls posted by LaTara. It was a link to her newest blog post on her site Mom Unplugged. I have a good idea why that specific tiny url distracted me so much that I had to read it.

Oh, but you know me, I didn’t read it right away. Of course not, instead I opened it in a new tab and saved it for later, at least I didn’t just bookmark it for later like I’ve done with so many others that I never read. For some reason this one was was different, I could feel it. I kept mis-clicking on my various tabbed adventures and would continuously bring up, yup, you guessed it, LaTara’s post. I finally gave in, stubborn as I may be, and read the post. I was so touched I teared up. Now you can say I’m just being hormonal due to my baby blues but in this case you would be wrong.

I have no doubt as to why this particular post affected me the way it did. Because I have strayed from my faith in God and instead of listening to Him I’ve been trying to make my own way. Now you can get what ever you want out of her post, but for me, it was a matter of my heart and knowing that some where back on this rocky road I’ve been on, I’ve lost my way.

I haven’t been listening to God’s will and doing things His way. When you try to take on the world alone expect to be alone. God is there for you if only you’ll let Him! Thank you LaTara, I’m waving my white flag.

Kaeden was goofing around with our new kitten Cleo. Cleo is short for Cleopatra and let me tell you this kitten definitely thinks she’s a queen and needs to pampered continuously throughout the day LOL We may not treat her quite like Queen Cleopatra but she is extremely pampered!
